Say NO to single use plastics in your daily life!

There has been a growing concern over recent years on the amount of plastic waste that people are throwing away on a daily basis. For years, we have been discarding plastic shopping bags, straws, coffee cups, water bottles and food packaging without a second thought. Just to give you some perspective, earthday.org has posted some shocking facts on single use plastic waste:
·In 2016, world plastics production totaled around 335 MILLION METRIC TONNES.
· Humans buy about 1,000,000 plastic bottles PER MINUTE in total.
· Around 4 TRILLION PLASTIC BAGS are used worldwide annually.
So now, we are here to inform the public so we can help reduce these insane numbers!

Here are some simple and effective ways to minimize/eliminate the single use plastics in your daily life:
1. When you are going to the grocery store or shopping mall, bring your own reusable bags! You can purchase some from grocery stores themselves, Walmart or even Amazon.
2. Bring your own reusable water bottle! There are many water fountains and potable water stations at most public places to fill yours up at, which will save you many unnecessary purchases of plastic water bottles.
3. There are two ways to reduce waste when getting your morning coffee: first, you can bring your own traveler mug, and second, if you know your order normally gets served with a straw, politely ask for no straw when ordering, and simply sip it from the cup.
4. Instead of wrapping up leftovers in plastic bags/plastic wrap, try using beeswax wrap – a fantastic alternative that can be molded, cleaned and reused.
Even these small changes can make a large difference! Do your part when you can to contribute to a more sustainable world!
